On Thursday, November 2nd, the Institut de l'énergie Trottier will host a public seminar on transportation and climate policy at Polytechnique Montréal, in collaboration with the Consulate of the United States in Montreal, the Department of Political Science of the Université de Montréal and the Institut Québécois du carbone. Organized as part of the JCCTRP workshop, the seminar will take place at the Pierre-Lassonde and Claudette McKay-Lassonde Pavilion of Polytechnique Montréal from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Room M-1410 .

Experts from Quebec, California, Ontario and Vermont will present their respective jurisdictions' transportation and climate efforts, including transportation policies, regulations, and cap-and-trade systems which link three of these jurisdictions.

The public seminar will be presented in English and will be followed by a cocktail from 19:30 to 21:00.

- Climate and transport policy in Quebec by Normand Mousseau, Academic Director at the Institut de l’énergie Trottier, physics professor and holder of a research chair in Complex Materials Digital Physic at the Université de Montréal.

- Climate and Transport Policy in Ontario par Cara Clairman, President and CEO at Plug‘n Drive (Ontario)

- Climate Policy in California by Chris Busch (Ph. D.), Research Director at Energy Innovation, where he leads research on sustainability and California climate policy programs.

- Transport Policy in California by Julie Witcover, Assistant Project Scientist at the Institute of Transportation Studies and at the Policy Institute for Energy, Environment, and the Economy of the University of California-Davis (UCDavis),

- Climate and Transport Policy in Vermont by Mary Sprayregen, Interim Director of Strategy, Policy, and Public Affairs at Vermont Energy Investment Corporation.

- Conclusion par Mark Purdon (Ph. D.), Visiting researcher at the Political science department of the Université de Montréal et Executive director at the Institut québécois du carbone.

The Joint Clean Climate Transport Research Partnership (JCCTRP) brings together economists, policy experts, political scientists and practitioners from across Quebec, California, Ontario and Vermont working on climate and transport policies and collaborating on research methods. The objective of the JCCTRP is to create a research cluster on those topics.
