Presentation

Anastasiya Shtaltovna is Associated Researcher at Department of Political and Cultural Change, Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany. For the past 10 years she has been working in different capacities on various socio-political and economic aspects of development of former Soviet countries and, more recently, Africa. She holds a PhD in development studies from the University of Bonn. In her PhD thesis, she focused on the development of the agricultural service provision and rural transformation processes in the post-Soviet authoritarian Uzbekistan. Her work and interest lie in the fields of rural development, post-Soviet societies, agrarian change and rural transformation, organisational change, agricultural advisory services/extension, innovation in agriculture, qualitative research methods, bridging the gap between development research and development collaboration. For her studies and work, Ms. Shtaltovna has conducted an extensive fieldwork in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. At the moment, she is working with CERIUM as a research collaborator on the project 'Coopération et Conflit Entre la Russie et l'Europe: Une Approche Relationnelle'​.
