Landry Signé is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington.

Landry Signé launched his book Africa’s Fourth Revolution this year, published by Cambridge University Press. With the rise of new technologies and innovations reshaping the global economy, the Fourth Industrial Revolution has been characterized as a fusion between the physical, digital and biological worlds. From the growing adoption of mobile devices to the entrepreneurial use of 3D printing, artificial intelligence and robotics, the trends observed in Africa demonstrate the continent's potential for growth and sustainable development as part of the fourth industrial revolution. In this innovative study, Landry Signé examines the meaning, drivers and implications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution for Africa. Drawing on a continent-wide comparative analysis, Signé powerfully challenges our understanding of Africa's transformation and highlights the potential of this fourth industrial revolution.
