Michel Audet

Associate professor at HEC Montréal

Michel Audet holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in industrial relations from Laval University in Quebec, and obtained a doctorate in industrial relations from the University of Montreal in 1992. He also studied at the Institute of Industrial Relations of the University of California at Berkeley.

For several years, Mr. Audet was a visiting professor at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Paris. He has also held the positions of Director, Innovation and Transfer, as well as Scientific Director at the Center francophone d'informatisation des organizations (CEFRIO). He was also a full professor in the Department of Industrial Relations at Laval University, where he directed the Institute of Information Technologies and Societies.

After his career as a professor and researcher, Michel Audet chose the world of diplomacy and public administration. He successively assumed the functions of Representative of Quebec within the Permanent Delegation of Canada to UNESCO, Commissioner General of the World Forum of the French Language for the OIF, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of International Relations, of La Francophonie and Foreign Trade, Delegate General of Quebec in Brussels and to the European Union, Prime Minister's Sherpa to La Francophonie and Chargé de mission for Africa.

As Deputy Minister, he headed the network of 28 diplomatic posts in Québec in 17 countries on four continents.

Among his responsibilities on the international scene, he actively participated in the implementation of two major international instruments for Quebec, namely the UNESCO Convention for the Promotion and Protection of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions as well as the Accord Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union.
