An associate professor in the Department of Political Science, John Parisella is the author of several publications and a speaker at several forums. He has also coauthored two books (Elections: Made in USA 2004, 2008) and is a regular blogger for magazines such as Maclean’s and America’s Quarterly. Mr. Parisella is currently a political analyst for U.S. policy at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

He is a graduate of Concordia (BA) and McGill (MA) Universities, and of Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government (certificate). Throughout his career, he has worked in three domains: education; politics, as director general of the Liberal Party of Quebec, chief of staff to Premiers Robert Bourassa and Daniel Johnson, and advisor to Premier Jean Charest; and business, as president of BCP (a Montreal-based firm specializing in marketing and public relations). From 2009 to 2012, he served as Québec’s Delegate General in New York - Washington. His career path has also led him to occupy several volunteer positions, including membership on numerous boards of directors in the cultural, education, health, and community and economic development sectors. From 2005 to 2009, he was co-president of The Tolerance Foundation.
