Presentation
Manal Lallali is a PhD student in political science at the University of Montreal, under the supervision of Mamoudou Gazibo. She is also a member of the Research Center on Africa and the Emerging World (PRAME). Holder of a master's degree in political science from the University of Quebec in Montreal, she is completing a thesis which explores the new forms of dependence generated by Sino-African relations, with the Democratic Republic of Congo as a case study.
Her research interests include the essence and growth of Sino-African relations, the level of debt, trade in natural resources, the effects of Chinese imports on the local economy and tools of influence. She is also interested in issues related to Chinese migrants in Africa, their relationships and their direct integration with African communities.
