Presentation
Christian Morris is a doctoral candidate in Political Science and a Public Administration specialist at the University of Montreal, whose main area of research is the phenomenon of delegated governance. Specifically, he examines discretion in social service provision as a function of different frameworks of financing. While his empirical examinations leverage the sectors of basic education and journalism in the United States, his theoretical contributions aim to be portable across sectors and borders.
His early-career experience in the American nonprofit sector greatly contributed to whittle down his academic interests in social policy. After obtaining a master’s degree (M2) in public affairs from Sciences Po Paris, and having trained as a sustainable development specialist, his work centered on issues such as land-use conversion better practices and efforts at cooperation to protect global biodiversity.
Christian also counts on a robust trajectory as an educator at the secondary and university-levels, as well as in continuing education. Most recently, he has been a university lecturer at the Department of Political Science of the University of Montreal responsible for the course POL 2150 on social policy.
