Presentation
Clément Broche is a doctoral candidate in history at the Université du Québec à Montréal, under the supervision of Olga Alexeeva (UQAM) and Hang Zhou (Université Laval). He is also a lecturer at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he teaches Chinese history and contemporary Chinese politics. Recipient of the prestigious Canada Graduate Scholarship in honor of Nelson Mandela, his research is situated within the field of global history. In his thesis, halfway between history and political science, he analyzes the evolution of Chinese political discourse towards Africa, critically examining this rhetoric by comparing it to the lived experiences of African communities established in China.
