Presentation

Cheick Oumar Tiendrebeogo is a doctoral candidate in public health in the global health option at the École de santé publique de l'Université de Montréal (ESPUM). Cheick Oumar is a medical doctor and also holds a master's degree in health promotion from the ESPUM. His research focuses on maternal and child health in the context of security crises. In the specific case of his doctorate, he is looking at the effects of terrorist attacks on family planning in Burkina Faso from an intersectional perspective.

He also has experience of working with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), which has enabled him to hone his skills in administrative management, project funding and global health research ethics. His doctoral project is also funded by the Fonds de recherches du Québec en santé.
