Blair Welsh is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Government at the University of Essex and a doctoral researcher at the Center for International Studies (CÉRIUM) at the University of Montreal. Their research focuses on militant violence and restraint in civil war. In particular, they ask questions related to the tactical selection of militants, the selection of targets and the use of terrorism in civil war, as well as civilian responses to this violence.
