Présentation

Merve Erdilmen est candidate au doctorat en sciences politiques avec spécialisation en études de genre à l'Université McGill. Ses recherches portent sur les organisations dirigées par des réfugiés et leurs approches de l'égalité des sexes au Moyen-Orient. Sa thèse vise à comprendre comment divers acteurs, notamment les organisations internationales, la société civile, les organisations dirigées par des réfugiés, la population locale et les municipalités, mettent en œuvre et pratiquent les normes mondiales en matière de genre en Turquie. Elle a également travaillé comme consultante pour l'Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM). Elle a également été responsable de la protection au sein d'une ONG locale en Turquie et associée de recherche à GLOBALCIT à l'Institut universitaire européen, en Italie, dans le cadre d'un projet international sur l'apatridie et le droit de naissance à la citoyenneté. Les recherches de Merve ont été soutenues par le Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQSC), Forced Migration and Refugee Studies : Networking and Knowledge Transfer (FFVT), le Local Engagement Refugee Research Network (LERRN) et l'Université McGill, entre autres.
